You remember how I've raved about Jimmy Changa's, right?
I always get the Rio Grande - beef fajitas with grilled onions, a beef taco, guac, queso, beans, rice, and a cheese enchilada. Oh, and chips and salsa and green sauce. : ) I don't usually like enchiladas from restaurants because they're sooo greasy. Especially cheese enchiladas. I never eat cheese enchiladas. But I did have a bite of this one (I mean, it was already on my plate, so...) and it was good. Like, goood. Then I filled up on the beef fajitas because they were goooooood. Of course I took the leftovers home, and I left them in the fridge for George.
A few days later, he and I talked on the phone.
G: Oh! So get this. I got home last night from work. I was going to eat your Jimmy Changa's leftovers. I had been craving that cheese enchilada all day!
me: Yeah, I don't usually like cheese enchiladas, but that one was good!
G: Right! So I get home. I open the fridge...the box isn't in there.
me: Oh no.
G: Yes. I look in the other fridge, because you know we have that fridge in the laundry room.
me: Right.
G: It's not there.
me: Oh no.
G: Yes. So, I look in the trash.
me: Oh no...
G: Yes. It was in the trash. So I opened the box...
me: Wait, what??
G: It was right on top! Maybe Mom had just put it in there! It would still be good!
me: But you're a grown man! Eating out of the trash!
G: Look, I had been thinking about it ALL DAY!
me: Yeah, it WAS really good. Okay, so...you opened the box...
G: It was all gone.
me: Oh no!
G: Yes!
me: What happened??
G: Well, I asked Mom! She said, "Oh yeah, I ate that a little bit ago. It was just rice and beans." I said, "Woman! There was a cheese enchilada in there that's been calling my name!" She said, "Oh. I guess I ate that too, then."
me: Ohhhh noooo.
G: Yes. [Sigh.] Broke my heart.
Mystery solved.
