Hey y'all,
My favorite store has recently moved locations. HUGE grand re-opening this Friday and Saturday.
Tuesday before last, two days before the new location opened, I ran a few errands after work and stopped at the store at about 6:30. I completely geeked out! Between the burlap curtains, the pale blue walls, and the vintage finds, I was positively giddy. I kept noticing more and more things - antique displays, button boards (swoon but sadly not for sale), etc., etc., etc. Plus, it's just cool to me that I was there after hours. I know. It doesn't take much.
A brief aside - one of my favorite things is picking scrapbook supplies straight from the manufacturer's packaging with cellaphane and paper that is 20 sheets per pack. It happened once that I was in the store when the UPS man unloaded boxes, and Emmalie let me go through them while the paper was still warm from being in the hot truck. SO. MUCH. FUN.
So, as soon as I got home on Tuesday, I made this page. Finished it at about 1:30 am.
As soon as I got home on Wednesday, I made a second page. Finished it at about 10:00 pm and then left to drop both pages off at the new store that was opening the next morning.
So here's the first page, inspired by this post.
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill. Patterned paper, chipboard alphas: Jillibean Soup. Alpha stickers: Making Memories. Acrylic paint: Apple Barrel. Punch: Fiskars. Floral border sticker: Crate Paper. Flower: Maya Road. Baker's twine: The Twinery. Journal paper, thread.
I apologize for the poor photo quality - I couldn't photograph the pages in natural light like I usually do since I finished both of them well into the night. : )
I don't know exactly why, but I love this layout. It might be all of the layering or paint splatter or uncut threads.
In that respect, I'm really letting my hair down on my OCD.
Come back tomorrow for this one...
